Every Jared Leto Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
12. Girl, Interrupted (1999)
James Mangold's psychological drama is admittedly all about Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie, with the latter receiving a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her phenomenal, show-stealing performance as sociopath Lisa Rowe.
Though unavoidably compared unfavourably to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest upon release, Girl, Interrupted is a powerful examination of mental illness and society's response to it in its own right.
It gets no points for subtlety and could certainly have handled its themes more gracefully, but there's an undeniable weight to the melodrama on offer, elevated by the excellent performances as it all is.
Leto plays the supporting role of Ryder's draft-dodging ex-boyfriend Toby, sporting a thick Grizzly Adams beard and all, though this is Ryder and Jolie's show all the way.
