Every Jared Leto Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
11. Prefontaine (1997)
Much as Leto catches a lot of flak for his perverse commitment to parts, this biopic of late long-distance runner Steve Prefontaine is a rare example of the actor portraying a real person and giving a more conventional biopic performance.
That's not a criticism, either: this may be a relatively conventional sports drama, but it's a solidly crafted one by veteran filmmaker Steve James (Hoop Dreams), and one powered at all times by Leto's committed upfront work as the cocky Prefontaine.
Above all else, James' film is sure-fire proof there should probably be more movies made about the physically gruelling nature of long-distance running.
