Every Jared Leto Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
24. Black & White (1999)
James Toback's ensemble drama certainly isn't left wanting for talent among its ensemble, though struggles to spin a dramatic story out of its compelling hook, where a group of white teens get immersed in Harlem's Black hip-hop scene.
Again, the cast for this thing is ridiculous, with Leto joined by Robert Downey Jr., Gaby Hoffmann, Scott Caan, Claudia Schiffer, Brooke Shields, Bijou Phillips, Ben Stiller, Elijah Wood, a very young Michael B. Jordan, and Mike Tyson for God's sake.
It won't surprise many to learn that the bulk of the dialogue was improvised by the cast, because there's a sloppy looseness to this film that Toback clearly hoped would come across as bold and cutting edge.
Black and White is certainly an interesting film, but none of the cast, including Leto, really get much of an opportunity to shine.
