Every Leonardo DiCaprio Movie Ranked Worst To Best
14. The Revenant (2015)
After years of bad luck at the Academy, The Revenant was the film that finally won DiCaprio his Oscar. Whilst the win was most certainly a case of pity - he'd gone four nominations and twenty-two years without a trophy - it's still far from a bad one.
Alejandro G. Iñárritu's primal, horrific tale of survival and vengeance finds DiCaprio stripped down to a broken shell of a man who, left for dead and savaged by a bear in a scene of almost palpable terror, has only his desire for retribution keeping him alive. It's a painfully physical role, even if it lacks the actor's usual range.
Strained to his absolute breaking point, The Revenant is DiCaprio at his most beaten down and intense, and though he deserved it years ago, his Oscar win was worthy (though it's worth noting he doesn't match Iñárritu's ruthless direction).
