Every M. Night Shyamalan Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

6. Old

Unbreakable Bruce Willis
Universal

Shyamalan's latest movie is a firmly mid-tier entry into his filmography - neither a classic likely to be cherished decades from now nor an infamous failure.

It is a distillation of the director's strengths and weaknesses behind the camera, delivering an abundance of gut-wrenching suspense alongside groan-worthy dialogue and a third act that just doesn't know when to end.

But for open-minded audiences prepared to accept some fluid internal logic, Old is in many ways Shyamalan's most daring film, taking some ambitious narrative swings that at least paint a fittingly disturbing portrait of the horrors of ageing.

Reviews have been unsurprisingly divisive so far, and that feels like a fitting fate for a film sure to inspire much debate and discussion among audiences.
