Every M. Night Shyamalan Movie Ranked Worst To Best

1. Unbreakable (2000)

Signs Mel Gibson
Buena Vista

Nearly a quarter of century after its release, and Unbreakable is still the purest display of M. Night Shyamalan's talents and passions, as well as one of the finest superhero movies ever made. Bold words, maybe, but in a world dominated by superheroes, it's impossible not to be bowled over by what it has to say.

The story of an ordinary family man (Bruce Willis) who survives a train crash without any injuries and soon falls under the watchful eye of a comic obsessed loner with brittle bones (Samuel L. Jackson), Unbreakable is a haunting, sharp exploration of obsession, hero worship, and ego.

Unbreakable proved that Shyamalan wasn't a one-hit wonder, and in the process offered us his best film. And in a time where superhero fiction rules supreme, it feels more relevant and poignant than ever before, and there's a very good chance he'll never top it.
