Every M. Night Shyamalan Movie Ranked Worst To Best

14. The Last Airbender (2010)

You can file this one under How In The World Did You F*ck This Up? A live-action adaptation of one of the greatest and most popular animated shows ever made, The Last Airbender had all the ingredients needed for Shyamalan to craft a hit, and yet he squandered it all.

Poorly cast and glaringly ugly -- despite being the director's most expensive film, it seems like none of the money went to actually making this thing look like anything more than a plastic, tacky visual nightmare -- Shyamalan's first dive into the big world of blockbusters is ultimately a guide on how not to make a big budget actioner.

It's hard to watch The Last Airbender and not see a filmmaker attempting to cling to some kind of Hollywood relevancy after a string of duds. This remains the most wasted and forgettable film in Shyamalan's back catalogue.
