While being treated in the hospital, she entered the Astral Plane and had a conversation with Doctor Strange. The Ancient One knew that this was her last moment, and even though she had all the time in the world to prepare for it, she still wasn’t ready.

Instead, she stretched these final seconds out into a thousand, just to watch the traffic and the thunderstorm outside before she ultimately passed away. Not only was this scene incredibly poignant, and aesthetically stunning, she was able to give her new apprentice one last lesson that would help him go on to become the Sorcerer Supreme in the future.
