Every Major MCU Hero's Greatest Ever Moment

Not every MCU character’s greatest moment is a heroic one. Drax the Destroyer may have fought to save Xandar, to stop Ego from expanding across the universe, and (unsuccessfully) to keep Thanos from assembling the Infinity Stones, but he and Mantis shared a moment on Ego that was incredibly heartfelt and poignant.

Dave Bautista’s character was without a doubt mainly utilized as comic relief, particularly in Guardians Volume 2, but he has a horrifying backstory. His wife and daughter were both murdered by Ronan the Accuser on the orders of Thanos, and though this drove him to blind rage and revenge, he was internally crippled by grief.

This is something that Mantis learned when she used her powers to feel what he was feeling on Ego. Drax was telling her of his family, and when she connected with him and his emotions, Drax was relatively composed, but she simply couldn’t help but break down into tears. This was a truly powerful window past Drax's exterior, and into his soul by way of Mantis
