10. Justin Hammer – Iron Man 2

In the terrible first Iron Man sequel, there are few bright points, but Sam Rockwell’s Justin Hammer is definitely the brightest.

He’s a bumbling, incompetent Tony Stark wannabe, who believes he should be as powerful and rich as Stark simply because he acts like Tony did before he had his revelation and turned to superheroism. He’s also the first one to take advantage of the fact that Tony makes himself a target by admitting that he’s Iron Man and making his position seem even cooler.

Rockwell is a mix of camp and slightly off style, an annoying but charming figure and he injects some much needed life - and humour - which is so badly needed. It’s a shame he never returned too, since he wasn’t killed off.
