Every Martin Scorsese Movie Ranked Worst To Best

1. Goodfellas (1990)

Martin Scorsese Films Ranked
Warner Bros.

"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster."

Of all his masterpieces, his iconic characters and breathtaking performances, Goodfellas remains the greatest film in Martin Scorsese's extensive catalogue, collecting everything that makes him tick into a film so flawless, so entertaining, and so creative it can be hard to wrap your head around all that it achieves.

From the violent and tragic fate of the ruthless Tommy (a riotous Joe Pesci) to the inevitable undoing of aspiring gangster Henry Hill (the late, great Ray Liotta), to Scorsese's gorgeous tracking shot through New York's Copacabana nightclub and its helpful cooking tips, Goodfellas has it all and then some.

With rich assessments of the mob lifestyle, a calamitous love story, discussions surrounding faith, corruption, guilt and atonement, Goodfellas is simply perfection. Some directors are lucky to have just one masterpiece to their name, and whilst Scorsese has several, none can compete with this, his one true magnum opus.
