Before the MCU or even Spider-Man hit the big screen for the current superhero period, Marvel restarted their film universe after Howard The Duck with a bad-ass vampire movie that wore its R-rating on its sleeve.

The film starts with a bang, thanks to one of the best ever Marvel opening sequences, and while the plot threatens to fall apart as more silly elements sneak in, it's all anchored by a career-best performance by Wesley Snipes before his creative control was stolen from him.

His performance towers, meaning you don't really have to worry about the awful dialogue or the clunky exposition, and there's more than enough self-awareness from the likes of Kris Kristofferson and Stephen Dorff to suggest they knew not to take themselves too seriously.
