Every Marvel Comic Book Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
26. X-Men: The Last Stand
It might be deeply flawed, but there's no way X-Men: The Last Stand is anywhere near the worst X-Men movie. It falls down in proximity with Bryan Singer's first two movies, but the critical mauling it got wasn't wholly fair.
The reality is that The Last Stand has lots of good ideas and excellent sequences, but they're knitted together in a way that distracts rather painfully from them. Sir Ian McKellen is at his best, Famke Janssen sells the Dark Phoenix saga well and Kelsey Grammar plays Beast as he was always destined to.
Sadly, the things people tend to remember about it are Vinnie Jones' awful Juggernaut, the ropy deageing effect on Sir Patrick Stewart and the general narrative dissonance that fails to deliver the trilogy ender Singer's work deserved.
