Release Date: November 4, 2016 To put it mildly, Ant-Mans brief glimpse into the Microverse last year only scratched the surface of the level of weird Doctor Strange will be taking fans to when he arrives this November. Though he was name-checked in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it wasnt until late 2014 that Marvel finally confirmed Benedict Cumberbatchs landing of the role, bringing years of speculation to rest over who would finally fill the mystical hero's shoes. Cumberbatch's enthusiasm for the role has seemed more than genuine, and Marvel has been doing a solid job surrounding him with a stellar cast that includes Chiwetel Ejiofor as Strange's longtime archenemy Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton as his mentor The Ancient One, and the always-reliable Mads Mikkelsen as the film's primary villain, who speculation has pegged as being anyone from Mephisto and Dormammu to the real Mandarin. Doctor Strange is the MCUs big opportunity to go all out with its more mystical, magical aspects to present a whole new playing field thats only been hinted at over the years. The character is one that many fans have been looking forward to see brought to the big screen even before the MCU's existence, and its hard to doubt that Marvel will fail the Sorcerer Supreme in giving him the film and cinematic introduction he deserves.
