Every Matrix Fight Ranked Worst To Best 

The Matrix concludes with Neo confronted by Agent Smith. Despite being told to always run from an Agent, Neo chooses to stand his ground against the seemingly unbeatable foe.

What makes this showdown stand out isn't just the choreography, wirework, or bullet-time; its the fact that it tells a story. Many potentially great fights fail to match this brawl because they focus on the choreography and nothing else. But there is emotion running through every shot in this climax.

The confrontation begins with Neo utilising all his martial arts skills but being overpowered by the brute force of his opponent. Refusing to give up, he tries again and momentarily gets the upper hand before being subdued by Smith yet again. As Smith prepares to kill him, Neo outsmarts his enemy, defeating him.

The confrontation then turns into a vibrant and intense chase sequence before Neo is seemingly killed. However, Neo is reborn as The One, easily destroying Smith. Watching Neo vanquish his rival so effortlessly after having his ass handed to him only a minute ago is beyond satisfying to watch.

Even though the fights in the sequels were more grandiose, nothing in the franchise ever came close to topping this battle.
