52. The Zero Theorem (2013)

The Martian Matt Damon
Stage 6 Films

Another Gilliam-Damon team-up, The Zero Theorem is a strange, muddled sci-fi drama that stars Christoph Waltz as a mathematician looking for the meaning of life.

The film itself is weird to say the least, full of bizarre imagery and peculiar assessments of life, but it benefits from Damon's small role as "Management," the head of a company attempting to understand the universe.

Damon comes complete with a striking suit and bleach-white hair, and though he and Waltz seem to be having fun, the film itself never really lives up to its ambitious themes.
