James Rhodes is the third entry in a row on this list that falls under the category of unpowered human. Yet again however, this hasn't stopped Rhodey from becoming an Avenger, though he certainly took his time. Despite making his first appearance way back in Iron Man, he didn't join Earth's Mightiest Heroes until Age of Ultron.

In his years on the team, thanks in no small part to his military background, Rhodey has become a leader, and almost gave his life protecting what he believed to be right. Though the fight at the airport in Germany left Rhodey paralysed from the waist down, his commitment to the Avengers never faltered.

While Clint and Sam have become integral Avengers as experts in one certain discipline, using said skills to their advantage on the battlefield, Rhodey encased himself in a suit of armour, and surrounded himself with some of the most technologically advanced weapons money can buy.

Though he is only as good as the guns, grenades, and missiles in his arsenal, with Hammer's technology firmly behind him, War Machine has solidified himself as a formidable opponent in combat, though still relatively low on the list compared to his fellow Avengers.
