56. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness - Bruce Campbell Punches Himself

Scene: Earlier in the film, Doctor Strange enchanted an annoying food vendor (Bruce Campbell) to punch himself repeatedly. In this credits scene, we see the spell finally wear off, much to the man's relief.

Oh come on, man!

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' second credits scene is an exceptionally lame callback to a gag nearly every viewer will have long forgotten and, good lord, this is so not what anyone wanted to see after ten minutes of credits.

There were so, so many possibilities for an exciting credits scene at the end of this bizarre, horror-esque journey into the multiverse. We could've had an exciting cameo - Tom Cruise as an Iron Man variant, anyone? - or a tantalizing sequel set-up, or a look at the next big MCU villain or anything that carried even the slightest bit of weight. But no.

As if this bitterly disappointing sequel wasn't already infuriating enough, it ended with what honestly felt like everyone involved in the movie smugly giving audiences the finger. You hate to see it.

It's arguable that the best thing to do here would've been to have a scene involving the 616 version of Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofer), as he was set up as a big villain in the post-credits scene of the first film yet we don't actually see that version of Mordo all the way through the movie, which was very jarring indeed.
