Every MCU Dad - Ranked From Worst To Best

Odin was a poor dad to Thor and a worse one to Loki. He’s a decent character, if (despite Hopkins’ best efforts) badly one note until his final appearance in Ragnarok, but some of his greatest moments come from highlighting just how much of a bad father he really is.

With Loki, not telling him he was adopted his complex, but clearly favouring Thor is just straight up bad parenting. Still, there are times when he’s willing to forgive Loki’s misdeeds, even if he admits in The Dark World that he’d have already killed him if not for Frigga. So, overall a terrible father there.

While he actually liked Thor, his life lessons consisted of stripping him of his powers and kicking him down to Earth. That’s ferberizing your child taken to the extreme.

That’s not even mentioning Hela. Odin is batting two for three on kids hell bent on world domination, so even though Thor helped save the universe, Odin’s overall record isn’t great. Then there’s the fact he locked her away in the the void, never dealing with her issues either.

Seems there’s a pattern emerging for him...
