12. The Defenders
As individuals, the Defenders are great. Okay, three of them are great and one of them is Danny Rand (though even he improved in his second season SOMEWHAT). But put them together and they are simply not great than the sum of their parts. They aren't even the sum of their parts, to be honest.
They might save the world and that's all very admirable, but the promised cool factor when they eventually collided just didn't flow properly. We got moments of interesting friction (mostly where Jessica Jones would almost roll her eyes and mug "oh, these boys!" to the camera) but their quest to stop the Hand (yawn) was uninspiring and they never quite managed to justify their dynamic as a single group.
It's not even like they represent four different worlds coming together, which might have given them a sort of Guardians vibe to them - they're just sort of not the right jigsaw pieces.
