11. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Thor Ragnarok New Weapons
Marvel Studios

Thor: Ragnarok took a bold risk by bringing in director Taika Waititi and letting him make a comedy, but my god did it pay off.

Gloriously over-the-top, violent and relentlessly fast-paced, Hemsworth's third outing as the God of Thunder is a film so self-aware and just plain fun it seemed to appeal to everyone, cynic and Marvel fan alike. From its more light-hearted portrayal of Thor and Loki's relationship to the epic return of Hulk, it's easy to see why.

With endless one-liners and great side characters in Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie and Cate Blanchett's unstoppable villain Hela, Ragnarok is by no means high art, but it works simply because it knows it can. What's not to love?
