17. Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)

The first post-Endgame film of the franchise, Spider-Man: Far From Home had a lot riding on its shoulders, and for most part lived up to the hype.

Relying once more on the determined and endearing performance of Tom Holland and roping in Jake Gyllenhaal to try his hand playing a villain, the web-slinging sequel leans heavily into the emotional aftermath of Endgame's heartbreaking finale, whilst Spidey tries to find his place in a rapidly changing world.

Both action-packed and choc-full of genuinely surprising plot twists, Far From Home stuffs a little bit too much into its two-hour runtime, but achieves high marks where the drama, character development and acting prowess is concerned. Plus, that post-credit scene might just be the best of the franchise...
