9. Black Panther (2017)
One of the MCU's most universally applauded movies to date, Black Panther has almost too much going for it to list here.
A thrilling and powerful tale set in the awe-inspiring world of Wakanda, the critical darling follows the late, great Chadwick Boseman's iconic T'Challa as he accepts his rightful place as king and is confronted by Michael B. Jordan's tenacious villain Erik Killmonger.
Rich in both history, culture and character, Black Panther is anchored by its star performances, as well as its powerful and timely themes of African diaspora and equality.
The first superhero film to receive an Oscar nod for Best Picture, Black Panther may lose some points for poor CGI, but in terms of story and cultural impact it ticks all the boxes and then some.
