6. Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Not to put too fine a point on the pun, but Avengers: Endgame can best be described as a marvel. It not only brings together everything the previous 21 movies had been building toward, but even with its intimidating scope it never loses sight of the charm, character-driven drama and intelligence that made its predecessors so popular.
Following the survivors of Thanos' universe-altering finger-snap as they travel through time in an attempt to reverse the damage the Mad Titan inflicted in Infinity War, Endgame takes audiences on a journey through the franchise's most important moments, allowing the core team to reconcile with their pasts and remember what they're fighting for.
An emotional swan song for some of the franchise's greatest heroes, the film may have its issues as far as the time travel is concerned, but as a sheer awe-inspiring achievement of fan service and unrivalled scale, it's simply a masterpiece of superhero fun. There'll probably never be another Marvel film quite like it.
