Every MCU Romance Ranked From Worst To Best

1. Steve Rogers & Peggy Carter

Agent Peggy Carter came into Steve Rogers' life at a time when he was learning a lot about himself. He wasn't a celebrated war hero or one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, he was just a young man falling in love for the very first time.

The romance that ensued between Steve and Peggy may have only lasted the duration of one film, but it burned brighter than any other romantic pairing in superhero movie history and left an impression on the MCU that would continue to be felt throughout all three phases. There was just something so genuine and affectionate about their relationship that made audiences root for them to get together and the chemistry between Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell was incredibly authentic.

Adding to that, the tragic conclusion to Captain America: The First Avenger broke so many hearts, making fans long for these beloved characters to be reunited and, even though they couldn't be together, this relationship never really ended. As we saw throughout his multiple MCU appearances, Steve never loved another person like he loved Peggy - a feeling that Peggy reciprocated in the Agent Carter TV series.

It really says a lot when the greatest love story in Marvel history is its most tragic, but it just highlights how strong this romance was in the brief period that Steve and Peggy spent together. It was a level that no other MCU couple came close to reaching, which is why it was only fitting that Avengers: Endgame paid this incomparable twosome the ultimate tribute, by giving them what they always deserved... a happy ending.
