Every MCU Villain Plot Ranked From Worst To Best
11. Detroying Tony Stark's Legacy - Quentin Beck (Spider-Man: Far From Home)
Spider-Man's second stand alone movie in the MCU had the unenviable task of following on from Endgame, and the villain, following on from Thanos. Marvel Studios chose one of the greatest of Spidey's rogue gallery, with enough of a tweak to make him better fit the wider universe as a whole.
Instead of having special abilities, Mysterio's power came from tech and drones, which was something surprising even for the comic book fans who thought they knew what to expect. Beck used his brain rather than brawn to manipulate not only Peter Parker, but the entire world into making himself a hero.
It was a very strong story line for the villain, and one that kept the audience both compelled and unsure of what to expect next. However, there were just a couple of details that stopped it from being incredible.
Beck as a former Stark employee who resented his boss? No problem. However, resentful because Tony called his invention a stupid name? Ridiculous. And although the tech based version of the character fit more with the background of the MCU, and though we will ultimately get to see it explored in Doctor Strange 2, it's hard not to be a little disappointed that there was no real multiverse in the movie.
