Every Movie Based On A Saturday Night Live Sketch - Ranked From Worst To Best

14. It's Pat

It's Pat was a gigantic failure in every sense of the word. Calling it "underwhelming" at the box office would be an understatement that rivals a Titanic survivor describing the event as "a rather serious evening." Even though the movie reportedly cost a paltry $8 million to make, it brought in just barely over $60,000. It subsequently caused SNL's feature film budgets to balloon on future projects, because surely that's the reason it flopped. But numbers aside, the real failure with It's Pat is that the main character goes from curiously goofy in the skits to outlandishly self-centered in the transition to the big screen. There's really no redeeming quality to be found in this version of SNL's go-to androgynous character. She (and yes, it most definitely resonates as a she in the film) is 100 percent shrill and 0 percent subtle. By the way, it's never a good sign when the most nuanced performance in your film comes from Charles Rocket, who you may know from his roles in Hocus Pocus, Dumb & Dumber, and f*cking Wagon's East.
