As a character, the Hulk has always been misunderstood by those around him. It's kind of his whole thing.

Similarly, Ang Lee's visionary Hulk movie has always been misunderstood. While it is far from Lee's best work, for a movie about a giant green rage monster it is surprisingly daring and willing to look different to its contemporaries.

With the current lack of solid plans for Mark Ruffalo's version of the character in the MCU, this may be the best Hulk movie we have for some time.
