If you are a fan of superhero cinema today (and if you've made it this far into the list, you must be), there is one film you need to thank: X-Men. Making its explosive debut way back in the year 2000, all modern comic book movies can be traced back to this massively influential kick-starter.
It's hard to believe that this is a twenty year-old movie. Everything about it holds up to this day, from the brilliant special effects (both CG and practical), the exciting action, and the ridiculously over-qualified ensemble cast.
Superhero movies have come a long way since 2000, but X-Men can still comfortably stand alongside the best ones being made today.
