32. The Punisher (2004)
Not including the MCU's Netflix show, there have been three attempts to bring Frank Castle to the screen. While none of them were exactly big successes, this is by far the least successful of the bunch.
The main issue is that, compared to the 1989 version and 2008's Punisher: War Zone, this version just takes itself a smidge too seriously. The Punisher, as a character, has always worked best when you embrace how over-the-top he is, rather than attempt to make him seem overly realistic.
The idea of John Travolta playing a villain in a Marvel movie certainly sounds like a fun, but unfortunately his performance here is more Gotti than Grease.
