Jennifer Garner's Elektra memorably died in the Daredevil movie, and in all honesty, nobody would have minded too much if she'd stayed dead. All in all, ever choosing to make this movie was a strange choice.
It is that strangeness that puts this ahead of Daredevil, however. Whereas that movie played it safe to the point of being mundane, Elektra is that bit weirder and more willing to take risks.
Sure, the risks rarely pay off to anything worthwhile or interesting, but at least they're trying with this one.
