The Hunger Games' epic but ultimately overstuffed finale were the last two films Philip Seymour Hoffman starred in, reprising his role as rebel sympathiser Plutarch Heavensbee from Catching Fire.
His role is much more substantial and complex in Mockingjay Part 1, allowing Hoffman more time with the character, though he tragically passed away whilst filming Part 2 and had to have his role cut down and re-written for the finished product.
Hoffman's role here is more important than it was in Catching Fire, and serves as a reminder of just how great he was at making even the smallest of characters feel the most alive.
