Every Philip Seymour Hoffman Movie Ranked Worst To Best

45. Rusty - Flawless (1999)

Phillip Seymour Hoffman Doubt
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer

Joel Schumacher's Flawless means well, but ultimately falls flat. Robert De Niro stars as a homophobic New York cop who happens to live near a drag queen (Hoffman), with whom he forms a friendship following a stroke.

Hoffman does his best with the material, but Schumacher tries too hard to wring the emotion out of the dire plot. Flawless is flawed, messy and so on the nose it occasionally hurts, and though Hoffman's performance is the best thing in it, it's hard to notice how outdated and sloppy the film actually is.
