Every Philip Seymour Hoffman Movie Ranked Worst To Best
43. Frank Hansen - The Getaway (1994)
The Getaway marked one of the last of Hoffman's bit roles. He turns up only briefly with a performance that allows him to play an unremarkable and inexperienced criminal, and then he ends up the victim of Michael Madsen's horrific antagonist Rudy.
It's a short but sweet role that heralded the end of a chapter in Hoffman's earlier career, and though The Getaway itself is a terribly acted and ugly action-thriller, it at least has some thrills and a typically memorable turn from the future Oscar winner.
