Every Pixar Hero Ranked From Worst To Best

11. Miguel Rivera (Coco)

Brave Ratatouille Toy Story
Pixar

On the surface, Coco's Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez) might seem like a pretty typical animated film protagonist: an ambitious youngster whose flowery aspirations - in this case to become a musician - are forbade by his family.

And yet, Miguel's journey soon enough reveals itself to be anything but ordinary, as he ends up trapped in the Land of the Dead and desperately attempts to return to the land of the living before it's too late.

Beyond Miguel's desire to express himself through art, he also learns some serious lessons about both his own dark family history and mortality in a broader sense, albeit in a delicate manner that resonates with audiences young and old.

While Coco might be best defined by its gorgeous visuals and Oscar-winning music, it wouldn't quite connect without the beating human heart that is Miguel.
