Every Pixar Hero Ranked From Worst To Best
10. Marlin (Finding Nemo)
There's little point denying that Nemo's father Marlin (Albert Brooks) is thoroughly overshadowed by amnesiac sidekick Dory in Finding Nemo, but that doesn't mean he's not a full-bodied, easily relatable character in his own right.
Any parent watching will surely see some of themselves in Marlin's terrified over-protectiveness - he becomes a ball of neurosis and anxiety the moment his spawn appears to be in danger, as is brought to evocative life by Albert Brooks' wonderfully velvet-voiced performance.
Marlin's journey of growth throughout the film may not tout the most sage or illuminating message - to step outside of his comfort zone and give his son some freedom - but his dynamic with Dory is an absolute delight, ensuring he ranks among the very top-tier Pixar dads.
