Every Pixar Hero Ranked From Worst To Best

18. Ian Lightfoot (Onward)

Brave Ratatouille Toy Story
Pixar

Onward is a sweet little movie albeit hardly a Pixar classic, and that's in large part because elven protagonist Ian Lightfoot (Tom Holland) doesn't really touch the sides.

Sure, his and his brother Barley's (Chris Pratt) quest throughout the film - to resurrect their dead dad for 24 hours - is inherently worthy, and Ian gets points for letting his brother get closure with their dad at film's end, but there's still not quite enough here to earn Ian a higher spot on the list.

Even if you can somehow ignore how closely Ian resembles a re-skinned version of Ratatouille's Alfredo Linguini, he's just not interesting enough to rise above being a lower-tier Pixar hero. A contentious opinion perhaps, given the film's many passionate cheerleaders.

Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes). General video game, TV and film nut. Occasional sports fan. Full time loon.
