Every Pixar Hero Ranked From Worst To Best

15. Lightning McQueen (Cars)

Pixar

Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) certainly isn't the most ambitious of Pixar heroes, but he's brought to vibrant life through Owen Wilson's solid performance while having a discernible character arc across the three Cars movies.

Lightning's journey is a pretty typical one, of an arrogant, unpleasant individual who learns to open their heart thanks to a brand of kindly misfits - in this case the cars at Radiator Springs.

In the third film Lightning's character development is further deepened by having him become a mentor to Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo), which pays off his story in satisfying fashion.

It's just a shame that Lightning was relegated to supporting character duty in Cars 2.

While technically the weakest protagonist of any flagship Pixar franchise, Lightning's still a fun presence regardless.
