Every Pixar Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

2. Toy Story 3

Threequels are tricky beasts indeed - sticking the storytelling landing while introducing enough new twists on the series' formula to justify its existence is tough, but Pixar practically delivered the perfect finale with Toy Story 3.

An almost unbelievably perceptive film about ageing and moving on, it so shrewdly exploits the emotions of viewers who've grown up alongside Andy and are heading into adulthood themselves, while the arc of Woody and the other toys provides an added layer of meaning for adults seeing their kids leaving home.

Beyond all this, it's an extremely funny and imaginative prison break parody, while boasting all-timer slapstick with Mr. Tortilla Head, a terrifying sequence set in a furnace, and an incredible villain by way of Lotso (Ned Beatty).

But what truly cemented Toy Story 3 as the best threequel ever was surely its ending - intensely bittersweet and yet such a satisfying way to "conclude" the story. If you didn't sob, you're lying.
