Every Pixar Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
1. Toy Story
And of course, was anything else ever going to be #1?
While we can't entirely discount the pull of nostalgia, Pixar's first film remains their best and most cherished feature to date, without whose success we simply wouldn't have the studio's beloved cachet of more than 25 movies.
Toy Story's influence on the animated medium can't ever be overstated, and while a lesser studio would've fashioned this story of toys come to life as a glorified exercise in selling plastic junk, there's somehow not a single cynical bone in this movie's body.
Soulfully performed by its voice cast - especially Tom Hanks and Tim Allen - while jam-packed with iconic one-liners, a fast-paced road trip narrative, and boundless creativity in basically every single moment, Toy Story forms the blueprint for an animated masterpiece that appeals to basically everybody.
Its visuals haven't aged super well - as anyone who's seen the 4K remaster can attest - but when you've got characters and ideas this timeless, who really cares?
