Every Pixar Movie Ranked Worst To Best

16. Monsters University

Monsters University
Pixar

It may have taken a while to come out, but there was always enough charm in and goodwill for Mike Wasowski and Sulley to warrant a return to their world. And that world - and the wonder behind it - that really captured everyone's imaginations first time out.

Rather than following on with Sulley and Boo's story, or finding out whether Mike excelled as one of the new breed of Non-Scarers, Pixar chose to expand the world by looking beyond the workplace. Instead, we got a look at the college fraternity system as a backdrop to learning how the odd couple of Monsters Inc ever became friends in the first place.

The film lacks the villainous hook of the first and there's no real sense of threat (because we know everything works out ok), but getting to spend more time in Mike and Sulley's company is no bad thing at all. It's not quite as charming, but it's in no way a redundant follow-up.
