What is it with Pixar villains motivated by fortune and fame? When will they ever learn that it won't end well?

Much like De La Cruz, Charles Muntz is a prime example of why you should never meet your heroes. This is a man who after decades of searching for a rare bird, with little human contact, has been driven completely insane by his quest, so much so that he's willing to kill anyone who he thinks is trying to take the glory for themselves. He's a self-confessed murderer and comes very close to killing Carl, Russell, Kevin and Dug.

We ought to have known that he would be the bad guy of Up when we first head Christoper Plummer's voice coming out of him and the veteran actor goes a long way to help make Muntz one the most terrifying and sadistic villains in animated film history. And we mustn't forget that his death, falling from the flying house, is one of the scariest in all of Pixar.
