Every Rob Zombie Movie Ranked Worst To Best

7. Halloween 2 (2009)

Halloween 2 might just be Rob Zombie's most hated film, and whilst it's not quite as bad its most ardent critics would have you believe, it is by no means a masterpiece. With its messy script and Zombie's need to do something different with Michael Myers sometimes tripping the movie up, Halloween 2 also sees Zombie conjure up some of the franchise's most violent, gore-infested sequences, making the slasher aspect of the story a top-notch addition to the overdone sub-genre.

On top of that, the film also dares itself to have a deeper look at the mentality of Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor-Compton) after the events of the last movie

In the end, though, Halloween 2 is tripped up by exactly the same issue as its predecessor, in that it spends far too much time delving into the backstory of Michael Myers and made the big, unkillable horror icon nothing more than a moody, abused kid. It killed his mystique, as did Zombie's inclusion of some truly bizarre (if beautifully filmed) dream sequences.

Halloween 2 is the definition of hit-or-miss, and though Zombie deserves credit for mixing up the Halloween formula, it didn't quite work the way he wanted it to as a whole.
