Every Saw Trap Ranked From Worst To Best

35. Saw III - The Rack

Trap: Timothy (Mpho Kaoho), the driver who accidentally ran over Jeff's son, was put in the most painful Saw trap of all. The Rack twists the victim's limbs off one by one before turning their neck 180 degrees and killing them. To retrieve the key, Jeff would have to take a bullet as the key is linked to a shotgun trigger.

If this was a ranking of the most horrific Saw traps, this would be number one. But this is a quality-based ranking and honestly, The Rack is a mixed bag.

On the one hand, this scene is undeniably disturbing and powerful, and the way it tests Jeff is well-written.

On the other hand, it is pretty gratuitous and it's unpleasant to watch more than anything else. Then again, perhaps the whole point of this trap was to disgust and disturb viewers as much as possible; it'll certainly do that.

If a truly evil character had been in the trap, it probably would've felt more acceptable and therefore ranked higher.
