Every Saw Trap Ranked From Worst To Best
34. Saw IV - The Spike Trap
Trap: Morgan (Janet Land) and her abusive husband Rex (Ron Lea) woke up, suspended, with many steel rods impaling them. Morgan was given a choice: stay there and bleed to death or pull the rods out, which would save her but kill Rex (due to where they had gone through his body). She chose to do the former. This was the third trap in Daniel Rigg's Game.
This one did have a thought-provoking concept behind it and what we see of the trap is effectively disturbing... unfortunately, we only see a bit of it in mostly sped-up flashbacks.
Had this one been properly shown, it would've definitely ranked quite a bit higher.
As for Rigg's involvement in the trap (he only arrives when it's over), it's just as badly-written as nearly everything else in his game. He was told by a tape to leave Morgan to save herself, which he then did. Given what a minor thing that was, it barely even felt like a test.
