Every Saw Trap Ranked From Worst To Best

8. Saw VI - The Acid Room

Trap: William enters a room with three captives. One is his sister (Samantha Lemole), the other two are the wife (Shauna MacDonald) and son (Devon Bostick) of a man who died thanks to William denying him coverage. The mother and son are given the choice to forgive William, or kill him. If the kill switch is activated, William will be injected with a large amount of acid and killed.

The thing that makes the best Saw films effective is that they represent a major societal fear - that our mistakes will haunt us in horrifying ways - and the Acid Room, with its savage and disturbing depiction of karma for William, is a spot-on realisation of this.

The extremely gory death of William at the hands of the son, who flicks the kill switch, is a nasty ending but it's also an enormously effective one that feels entirely earned. William's Game was, overall, a very entertaining middle-finger to the American healthcare system and this finale was the cherry on top of a deliciously dark cake.
