Every Saw Trap Ranked From Worst To Best

9. Saw II - The Furnace

Trap: This was one of the traps in the Nerve Gas House and Obi (Timothy Burd) was its victim. The furnace ignites as soon as the victim is inside and in order to turn off the flames, a certain knob inside must be turned. To reach this, the victim will inevitably burn themselves.

In a word, horrifying.

This makes for a claustrophobic, nightmarish and deeply disturbing set-piece that gets every possible thrill out of its horrific scenario.

It's a little rushed and it might've been better to save for later in the film, since Saw II's second half is short on great traps and it would've been nice to have more screen-time for Obi, since he's one of the best characters in the Nerve Gas House.

Still, those issues aside, it's an excellent, intensely unsettling trap overall and it won't fail to make viewers grip their seats in fear.
