Every Single MCU Film Ranked From Worst To Best

11. Ant-Man (2015)

There's an army of Edgar Wright fans who will no doubt argue until they're blue in the face that his version of Ant-Man would have been superior, but given how long the project was stuck in "development hell", it's incredible how good Peyton Reed's replacement version ended up being.

As with Robert Downey Jr, Tom Hiddleston and Chris Evans, the success of the film really comes down to the casting of Paul Rudd. He might have been a slightly unexpected hire, but he guarantees everyman spirit and his particular brand of humour proved to be perfect for the grown-up Honey I Shrunk The Kids caper.

He's not the only smart casting - Michael Pena is enormously charming as Luis (even with some iffiness around racial stereotypes), Evangeline Lily is acerbic and precise as, Michael Douglas is his usual effervescent self and even Corey Stoll works well as the imbalanced villain. There are slight issues with the logic of his motivation, but the accusations that he's just another generic Marvel villain are misplaced.
