Every Single X-Men Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

8. X-Men: Apocalypse

X Men Apocalypse Oscar Isaac
Fox

To its credit, Apocalypse is the kind of spectacle that The Last Stand really wanted to be and if you can't get excited about a hammy villain with interchangeable powers seeking to destroy all of humanity because they worship their iPods and cheeseburgers too much, I don't know what to tell you.

Sure, Oscar Isaac is totally buried under too much make-up and latex, but his Apocalypse is a villain from the 90s Animated Seriesat his heart and that's actually pretty good. At least it wasn't just another movie about Xavier and Magneto clashing. Obviously, it was that too, but it had something else to focus on.

There are big problems, have no doubt about that. While the old cast are good (Mystique gets the biggest chance to shine, Xavier is a hot, slightly Hugh Grantish teacher), the new cast struggled to offer too much hope for the future and that probably didn't help Dark Phoenix at all.

If you can get past the issues, Apocalypse is a solidly entertaining, at times ludicrously thrilling spectacle that combines ideas seen throughout the whole franchise and moments of pure fan service.
