Every Spider-Man Movie Villain Ranked From Worst To Best
7. Green Goblin (Amazing Spider-Man 2)
We can overlook the fact that this was our third Green Goblin in just over a decade, given that he's Spidey's arch-nemesis, but Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborn comes with his own set of problems in Amazing Spider-Man 2.
While the Chronicle star puts in a solid performance as Peter Parker's ill-fated best friend, his transformation from troubled youth to evil glider rider is rushed.
It's a rollercoaster ride from the moment Harry's generic illness kicks in and puts Peter in the crosshairs for refusing to help him, but much of the character development that needed to take place to get us to that point is glossed over.
It's as though director Marc Webb was in such a hurry to reach the iconic Death of Gwen Stacy moment that he skipped many of the events leading up to it, and it's Harry's depth that suffers as a result.
James Franco's portrayal of the character in Sam Raimi's trilogy is far from perfect, but with his development spread over three films, at least we can say it wasn't rushed.
